SOOTHING MILK BATHS

By

One thing I hear almost ever time someone touches my skin is “oh my goodness your skin is so soft”. I have to credit this to milk baths, as a child growing up we used powered milk that came in a starch white box with generic black writing. It tasted horrible… I would prefer to skip cereal all together than to have to eat it with that so call “milk”. So instead of this milk going to waste my mother made milk baths for me and my brother. I had no idea at the time its benefits. I just thought it was cool as there was never a “ring around the tub” (good to know moms ;o}) with the milk baths. I know now that the benefits are awesome and I am so thankful for that horrible tasting milk.

Some of the benefits are:

· Exfoliating

· Soothing irritated skin great fro Eczema and Psoriasis (adding oats helps sooth as well)

· Dissolves dead skin

· Softens skin

· Relaxing

You will need:

· 2-3 cups Powered milk or whole milk (powered is my preference as it has a shelf life)

· Essential oils (optional)

· Oats (optional)

The milk bath makes skin feel softer, smoother and more resilient. There is lactic acid in milk which dissolves protein and binds dead skin together. It works as an exfoliant similar to alpha-hydroxy acids like you find in your favorite skin cream. Kick it up a notch by using a loofah in the bath or dry brush gently before getting into the bath. Be careful not to over exfoliate! You probably have heard of Cleopatra and her beauty which was a result of her regular milk baths.. we all deserve to live like Cleo from time to time. Treat yourself, love yourself. God Bless!

I always thought you had to buy "milk bath" bubble bath...I had no idea you could actually make it from actual milk!!!! Thanks for sharing~~ I am so excited about my next bath now!!! :-)
